Mighty Quinn was Manfred Mann, while Blinded By The Light was Mandred Mann's Earth Band. With the exception of Manfred Mann himself, it was an entirely different band with a much different sound. MMEB was all over AM radio when I was a kid.

It's quite a jar to go from Pictures of Matchstick Men era Status Quo to their later stuff, and that was a total change within the same band! Sometimes musicians just get an impulse for drastic genre shift.
